Corp Dev Comp
Hi All - just got an offer from a F50 CPG for a role in corp dev/biz dev to basically help manage and grow port co's and new biz opportunities
Will have total freedom to explore opportunities and put internal cash to work. I have no MBA and am 3yrs out of college.
Comp is 115 base + 15 signing + 25 bonus. All in 155.
I figure this is pretty fair for coming in light on xp. Am I getting ripped off here or did my last reread of The Art of the Deal pay off?
Thanks-
Seems fine
Seems a bit above average if anything, at least if it's not in NYC or SF. It's a really good offer IMO if you don't have an IB / M&A advisory background and are coming from S&T.
to be clear this would be for a Tier 2/Tier 3 city in the midwest (depending on your perspective). Think Milwaukee/Minneapolis/Saint Louis
God damn. I would take far less for a Corp Dev job
Feeling pretty thankful honestly. i am going to take it and count my luck stars
Congrat on either J&J or P&G lol
Thanks everyone, i signed the sheet last night. going to enjoy christmas with no worries
Pretty good offer for an Sr. Analyst / Associate role (I'm guessing).
I think most other companies for that level will pay under six figures for base and all-in to your base of $115k
thanks for the reply. I signed it and am giving notice monday.
Pretty excited for it clearly. I technically will have a manager title for whatever thats worth
Oh got it, I've seen managers with higher comp but you're only three years out of college so should be happy none the less.
Absolutely, no complaints on my end. How does corp comp typically scale at a f50-f100 in corp dev/biz dev? Is it tough to break through the 250 barrier
Hey man, congrats on the offer and sounds like a great comp for 3 years out. Would you mind sharing your recruiting process in regard to timeline and how networking plays into it? I'm starting in IB next year but would like to transition towards corp dev, but don't really know what the process is like, seems a bit informal compared to how structure PE recruiting is.
Hey man, it was a total one off. I was in a totally unrelated industry (commodities) and I approached my hiring firm with an informal JV opportunity in the space. Opportunity eventually collapsed due to a lack of interest on my companies end, but my new firm wanted to bring me a long to continue to build the business
Sorry if its opaque, but its pretty easy to dox myself if anyone related to the project put 2 and 2 together.
What made you want to switch from commodities to Corp Dev? Seems like an interesting switch.
I noticed that you considered signing bonus as part of all-in comp. Is it a norm for most companies to compensate for that in year 2 (and beyond) with more bonus or stocks? I know Amazon does it with the stocks but not sure if other companies do. Thanks.
There is a built in 10% raise to base next year which should cover close to the signing bonus equivalent.
Within 2 yrs, its up or out to the next band per my conversations with guys already there
