Corp Dev Associate - Tech North East
$130 base ~20k bonus
How’s WLB in corp dev for a tech company?
My company is fantastic. Some late nights during deal crunch/board time but it’s not uncommon to have light Friday afternoons or happy hours. We are also always easy going on personal or family situations like a picking up kids, doctors appointments, leaving town etc.
all in all, WLB is stellar. It certainly can change if the company becomes more acquisitive
Corp Dev / Strategy - MCOL City - 2 years IB previously
$115 base, no bonus :(
No short term incentive, sad day … then again, since there’s not a lot of end decisions in Strat / Corp dev’s control, and you can’t really say “deploy xx amount of capital” as a strategic, I tend to think they’re a bit silly anyway?
Corp Dev / M&A NYC - Associate, high-growth industry. $125k base / $125k target bonus
Ok, $125k target bonus, are you bonused on capital deployment? and is the firm a financial or strategic? I’ve never heard of corp dev having such a large bonus as % of salary and am curious what they incentivize.
Interested as well. I'm guessing its one of the highly acquisitive tech giants.
What's the approximate size of the company (rough range of revenue, employee, international/regional, etc.)?
That's a nice target bonus
We’re all tryna figure out how to
Corp Dev Manager - South East - $125k base / $45 bonus / $500k LTIP
Nice. Is that one year worth of LTIP or several?
Over several years. Combination of a five year vesting schedule and a MOIC hurdle for the PE firm
Just got an offer for Corp Dev Manager at 140 base + 20% bonus (165 total). PE portco in the close suburb of a Tier 1 city. I have 5 years of experience in FP&A and Corp Dev. Am I right to think this is kind of light or are my expectations off? Was really hoping for 180 at minimum, will try to negotiate.
I have 2 years in Corp Dev, in Mountain West region, and the offers I’ve gotten are all $120k-$135k base + ~10% bonus. Both working from home for CA firms. I bowed out of one that offered $120-$130k base, and they came back to me a week later asking to reconsider and they’d be flexible on salary. It was PE-backed. I do think they were offering on the high end. Not sure that helps your question or not.
Thanks for sharing. Those are analyst roles, right? That range sounds in line with market if so.
Sounds about right to be honest. Maybe a little light in SF or NYC but even then not terrible
I’ve seen manager level roles get base comp in that range you provided. Corp dev is all over the place, so definitely negotiate to the extent you can.
Director M&A
Base: €230K
Bonus: €50-70K
How many YOE and what type of company?
10y xp & metals/mining
I got quoted a base range of $155-170k + bonus and equity for a corpdev manager role earlier this year. I am an AS1 in IB in an unrelated coverage area.
How much bonus and equity?
I didn't ask. It was also apparently a public company, for reference.
What city?
Pretty big city but not a finance hub, think biotech (the role was not in biotech, however).
Corp dev senior manager
175k base 10k bonus 20k equity
Tech company
How many YOE?
That's the approximate target for 2024
6 yoe
Is that the target bonus or did you have a bad year?
Corp dev doesn't have much bonus cause it's corporate
Anyone have the link to last years?
Corp Dev Associate (year 1 here but 4 YOE prior) / Northeast (not NYC) / $135k base + $30k bonus + stock options (5 yr vesting period)
How significant are the options?
Just got raised: Associate, 2.5 YOE, 125k base + 10% bonus. Mountainwest at large skincare co w/ 5-10 port co’s
Senior director, big pharma, HCOL
Base is in the $230-250k range
Total comp including LTIP ~410-480k depending on where cash bonus lands.
How much is cash comp vs LTIP? How is cash comp structured?
LTIP is fairly small % of the total (Mid teens).
Cash comp is set % target of fix with multiplier for group performance; up to a cap. Very limited personal performance input in that number - if the firm does well I do well
