How long does a valuation project take?

Hi, how long can a valuation / merger modelling project be? What would be the "normal" duration? I can assume that there are some quick and dirty "a couple of hours" projects, but how long would be the real project - say within a merger /fairness opinion/equity research?

In a bank, Big 4 or corp dev dept.

Thanks.
