Ideas to Improve Corp Dev Function

Hey guys -

I'm working at a private company within their corporate development team. We grew quite fast over the past few years and never really took the time to think through and improve our processes to be efficient and impactful.

I am trying to think of ways I could add value by suggesting new processes to save time, build knowledge, etc.

Is there anything at your current company that you feel is highly effective and quite underrated? This could be producing monthly valuation environment updates, having templates ready for merger models, sending out earnings summary for key competitors on a regular basis, etc... We do have some processes in place but I believe it could be much more efficient as we continue to grow.

Thanks a lot!

Not really an efficiency tool but you could create a weekly/bi-weekly update on major market changes (competitor M&A, major customer news [earnings, relevant product launches, major milestones], market report updates, etc.) and provide some narrative around the business impact. My group plays a dual corp dev and strat role so some of the market/customer briefs falls on us but I have found it keeps the stakeholders informed and allows me to be more informed on the current dynamics of the market and makes finding targets/developing rationale much more streamlined.

Just a thought.
