Internship signing bonus?
Cap One offered me an internship signing bonus of $1,000 for their Business Analyst program (they're paying $2,500 biweekly, working in either Dallas, Richmond or DC)
I haven't heard of getting a signing bonus for taking a summer internship--is it just me or is this ridiculous generous?
I know some BB's pay signing bonuses to interns. At least BarCap does.
signing bonus = "relocation bonus"
yeah WSO is right--it's generally characterized as a relocation bonus, and although it is very nice, it often is used just for that, to basically just pay for housing (my SA housing cost more than my after-tax housing bonus actually)
but it is definitely very nice to get.
Cap One has been shelling out money to try and bringing in better talent. I'm not surprised.
Must be nice
yeah it's a relocation bonus. even if you don't need to relocate, pay for housing, you still get it anyway.
I think it's just a way for them to sweeten the deal. I got a pretty sizable "relocation" for my current internship even though my housing is paid for by the company. It came tax-free also which is a plus.
