M&A: post acquisition integration
Hi guys,
We are going to be more acquisitive (mostly small businesses) and we have our first M&A candidate we are ready to pull the trigger on. I will be asked to work on integrating the target company (ie: contracts, hr, it, processes etc... to be worked on).
Are there any resources/playbooks etc available to get up to speed with best practices and tools that are used in post m&a integration? I ordered a book off amazon on the topic but not much is available there...
Thanks much
choubix, sorry there are no responses yet. Maybe one of these topics can point you in the right direction:
You're welcome.
By integrating the target company, do you mean integrating their revenue streams and expenses into your companies financials and projections? Or do you mean valuation and discounted cash flow and market value of the target company?
Hi,
Real life integration : revenue streams, costs, systems, staff etc.
Are you on the fp&a team or corp dev team? Would finance usually assist with stuff like systems and staff integrations or is it just at smaller companies?
Smartest thing to do is hire an external consultancy for this first one, work hand in hand and learn a ton, then do it in-house for future integrations.
Agreed, I've been pushing for this...
