Post-MBA Corporate Finance in the tech industry
anybody have any info on corporate finance in the tech industry post-MBA? i'm referring to non-strategy/M&A roles specifically
im currently at a top 15 MBA program and have an internship offer for a corporate finance internship at one of the big tech companies. it is NOT a corporate strategy/M&A role, the role is more along the lines of pricing strategy and financial modeling for new business ideas. so its def a step up from typical FP&A forecasting/reporting but not quite corporate strategy/M&A. i have no tech experience so i see this as a way to leverage my finance/accounting background to pivot to an industry that actually excites me. the only thing is that my long-term goal would be doing strategy at a smaller tech firm/startup so idk what careers typically look like for ppl coming in on the finance side doing non-corporate strategy work. is it easy to switch over to pure strategy roles? any advice would be very much appreciated
