rebranding in corporate finance

I've got 10+yrs of corporate finance experience all within industry. The experience is diverse and includes M&A, restructures, divestitures, strategy development, performance improvement, digital transformation. I am looking to transition into fund management and/ or corporate advisory, and would like to hear from others that have successfully made a similar transition, about how you did it and any tips that you can share.

haven't done it, but your experience seems pretty well made for a consulting gig...

do you have any contacts in the consulting world (I'm assuming you do -- think about old consultants with whom you've worked in the past)

just be aware that some consulting engagements include clauses that prohibit hiring (either direction) for 6 months/1 year post project.
