There are a lot of low stress type finance jobs, but the majority of them are going to be lower pay. You can work as a financial analyst for pretty much any Fortune 500 company or related companies within the finance departments. It will be typical FP&A type work, financial reporting, and more of a 8-6 type job, where you will generally get around $55-65k (+/- depending on city/company/offices). You can also work as an FA or advisor for any bank and have a little better pay and growth. You will also have an advantage if you start as an FA for a bank and then move over as a Senior FA for a Fortune 500 company. Apart from that you can work middle/back office from any bank focusing a lot on reconciliation and compliance work. If you go this route you can pick a group your interested on such as FX, derivatives, ECM, debt, ect. You won’t get as much money or stress as you would working the same groups in front office. If you go with the first option, FA, it would be good to go ahead and get your CFA. Very valuable for resume, growth, and salary whatever route you end up taking.
