Working remote in FP&A and Corporate Finance

can it be done?

have you done it?

if so, what: role career level industry

would love to have a somewhat flex schedule where i could work from home 1-2x/week. in my current role, i'd say 90% of my job could be done entirely remote but the "butts-in-seats" mentality prevails.

I would say this depends on boss/team culture. If I am up front about it, and ask my boss, she'll let me work from home on occasion, think you may be able to work out a more consistent agreement if you make it be known that you would like to work from home. This is from a Financial Analyst (Mainly accounting, but some FP&A, and would say the same rings true for those on the FP&A side that I work with) at a F250 manufacturing firm outside of Chicago.

role: Financial Analyst on the FP&A team career level: 2nd year analyst industry: Insurance

It depends on your boss and programs the company uses. We use Workday, Adaptive planning, and Microstrategy so I have all real time financial data. My boss wants us to be here, so we can talk through any issues or talk to cross functional teams like Accounting or business partners. I notice some of my co workers work from home about once a week, but their managers are more laid back.
