WSO Lurker

A fellow Primates!

A former lurker here. Have been reading various discussions here over the years and finally decided to join.

Stats:

Originally from the former Soviet bloc, came to States on a scholarship to attend the top 15 school (undergrad Econ), but never attended. Long story short, I enlisted in the US Marine Corps (finished up my undergrad at a non-ranked school with a 3.0 GPA while in USMC) and did my four years. I wanted to go to OCS (ECP program), then changed my mind at the last minute and applied to top 15 b schools with top 30 as safety with only 3 weeks of GMAT prep, blew it with 670 as my verbal was horrible while my quant was 49. Started as a specialist with F100 in customer financial services (CPG), started at another F100 as Sr. FA post-MBA in the transportation/logistics industry. Worked as Sr. FA for nearly 5 years. During this time I got my MS in Analytics from a top 40 school (online). After not going anywhere after doing every single thing in FP&A, I said fuuk it and went to another F100 to become a Plant Controller (Finance Manager) did close to a year there (CPG), then was recruited by F500 CPG company for Senior Manager Analytics role (also FP&A related) after a year I took a job as Associate Director at one of the leading contract research organization (CRO).

I am here to be a part of the amazing community that provided some guidance when I was starting out.

Cheers,

Tima
