Private Credit / Mezzanine Funds and Recruiting Process
Hey -
I am an Incoming Analyst next summer and am starting to think about the next step after banking. I have recently been looking into private credit / opportunistic credit and mezzanine investing, instead of private equity. Would appreciate any insights on top firms in the space (Ares, GSO, HPS, Apollo, Oaktree, etc.), what the day-to-day is like for associates, compensation, exit opps, and what the recruiting process is like?
What group are you joining? You must to be able to sell to HHs your interest for mezz/credit funds and knowledge in the space... this is much harder to do from a industry coverage group, easier from a good levfin or rx group
