TD Securities CIB Credit

Does anyone know anything about the CIB Credit team at TD Securities? My impression is that this is the standard portfolio management/credit underwriting team but it seems to be marketed as a hybrid between LevFin/IB/Corp Banking.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the CIB Credit team at TD Securities appears to be a hybrid role that combines elements of leveraged finance (LevFin), investment banking (IB), and corporate banking. While it may have some overlap with traditional portfolio management and credit underwriting responsibilities, the role seems to offer exposure to larger IB deals and collaboration with coverage, M&A, and capital markets teams.

This setup could provide opportunities to work on structuring, origination, and modeling, particularly for corporate debt deals. Additionally, internal mobility within the firm is highlighted as a potential advantage, which might allow for transitions into more traditional IB roles over time. However, there is a concern about being perceived as a "commercial banker" when seeking lateral opportunities outside the firm.

Basically yeah. Based off people I’ve talked to, it’s more of a hybrid between corporate banking and IB, but it’s pretty deal-driven. The team works mostly with LevFin (and other product/coverage groups as well) and handles the credit modeling and underwriting

For TD specifically SA comp is the same as other groups. FT base is the same (110k), bonuses slightly lower than the other coverage/product groups but still comparable. Obviously depends on how your group preforms

What is the difference on day to day / skills for CIB (or whatever it is called at different banks vs CB?

They sound very similar?
