VP Corporate Banking - All-in Compensation

Hey guys. Can we gather some datapoints on Vice President comp is in the US for Corporate Banking? I’m thinking to lateral to BB but want some real datapoints before I enter negotiations. Thank you in advance.

Bank: State bank name or type (BBB or MM)

Year:

Base:

Bonus:

Have worked at regional and BB. At regional, VP comp all in was $200-$240 without much fluctuation for outperformance. As an associate at a BB last year, I had $280k in total comp. VPs make over $300k. If you’re doing CB, I’d highly recommend working at the 3-4 banks that widely overpay, but lifestyle is much closer to IB. Regional lifestyle can be 40 hours a week and making well more than most.

OP, to give you another data point I’m a VP at a non-BB and I cleared $340K. 40-50 hrs/week.

I’ve found at the analyst to vp levels for CB, you can use the posted total comp IB numbers and then haircut by about 40%.

But I’ve noticed that the BBs pay their corporate guys quite well for basically doing nothing but wining and dining the client while getting the IB or product groups to do all the work.

Pretty sweet gig of you can get it.
