Where to move to next from rating agency?

Hi, everyone. I've been working at a top 3 rating agency for a little while now as an analyst in their structured finance department. I don't really find the work that interesting and it feels like more of a legal job than a finance job.

I've searched on LinkedIn to see where people from my agency have moved on to, and I've seen some move into corporate investment banking, structured finance investment banking, credit research at banks, equity research, a few in corporate banking, and some in bond research on the buyside.

Does anyone know where I could realistically go next where I'd be doing more actual financial modeling/forecasting and analysis?

I'm also uncertain on pursuing the CFA, so I'd love to hear anyone's opinion on that.

Thanks!
