2013 II Rankings Out

http://www.institutionalinvestor.com/Research/4556/Overview.html

JPM on top once again. Surprised to see Barclays slip down to 4th. What are your guys thoughts?

Also curious if these rankings actually matter. As a new hire I often hear about them but I'm not sure if people actually care.

Interesting to look at, but really just for prestige & another way for bank executives & analysts to beat their chests & justify their bonuses & lure comp packages from rivals. Also can be used as tools to weed out less productive players.

Very good point. Many are aware of it, that's why Bernstein holds the reputation that it has. Not to mention that it simply takes to read a few of the research reports produced by them.
