Arranged the coffee now how do I make it worthwhile?

Hello all

I previously posted a thread regarding networking in ER and reaching out to people in my firm - took the plunge yesterday and emailed an director with a template I'm going to begin sending out across to different people. He was kind enough to reply and refer me to his associate. Arranged a 30min coffee sit down with him next week.

How do I come correct to this introduction and most important how do I keep the flame burning for future conversations??

I did a quick stalk and the team covers the Aerospace sector. Help much appreciated!

i've had a few of these and still haven't had anything major come of them, i guess its a numbers game and patience is important.

best to convey an interest in the markets. i try to research a couple firms they cover beforehand and while we're talking about their universe i try to focus the convo around one of the stocks i have become familiar with and just act like i'm catching on quick. i used a post by SimpleAs where he discusses his research process to get an idea of how to direct the conversation, search for it it's helpful. his process starts with recognizing what drives revnue, so i try to have them explain this to me.

this is an art, not a science. you can sort of gauge what they want to talk about during the conversation and take it from there.
