Can you move from macro research to other departments?
So I rejected an offer at a BB in its macro research department, for two reasons :
1) I believed that the experience in that department wouldn't allow me to move to other departments, although the managing director said she could send me to other departments (I doubted it)
2) I believed that if I were to stay at the department I would need a PhD which I didn't have.
Two years later I'm regretting this decision; at least it could have been better than my current job and now I definitely need an MBA to do anything else.
Was I wrong at the time? Could that experience move me to other departments?
I'm not sure if this answers your question, but this thread had a similar topic: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/macro-research
Hope that could help!
