Career Pivot -- Data Analyst to ER?
Currently working as a first-year data analyst in F100 firm, dealing with legal data more than finance. Graduated from a target school with humanities + hard science with an okay GPA. Want to move into equities after finding interest in the field during my later years in college. How can I make this happen?
I'm right now thinking of moving laterally to my firm's equity/company financials side of things but am a bit nervous since I literally have zero experience within the industry. The biggest things I can sell right now are my technical skills (Python, SQL, etc.) and shoot some shit around "superior communication and leadership skills". What I'm attempting right now is to get the FINRA SIE & series 63 licenses to boost my resume. I will also be taking the June 2021 CFA Level I.
Aside from licenses and CFA (if I pass), what are some other nice-to-haves for someone without industry experience looking to break into ER?
