CFA in ER??
How common is it for people in ER to take the CFA? Is it considered to be somewhat of a requirement in order to progress in the role?

Very common for people to get it though I’m noticing that less and less of the Gen Z new hire classes are going for it. I am SS ER and I am a CFA Charterholder. Is it required to advance? Hell no. Will it help? Hell yes. The advice that I give - if you majored in finance or accounting and feel very strongly about your modeling skills and financial acumen, don’t waste your time. If you don’t fall into that bucket, you should absolutely take it. It will teach you all of the ground level skills required for the job. Will it make you a great analyst? No! But it certainly will help make you a better associate and one day that will translate to you being a better analyst. My 2 cents.
How did you allocate time for studying? Few hrs before bed or early AM?
Just do it. Simple. Don’t be a bitch
5-7 hours a day every Saturday and Sunday. My boss was a hard-ass and never gave me time to study during the week. Plus the ER publishing schedule is too unpredictable to rely on a steady study routine during the week (unless you wake up early before work to do it).
