Consulting to Equity Research

Hi all,

I’m currently working as a consultant at a firm like PA Consulting/ Vendigital, but I’m finding the role a bit softer than I expected rather than more technical work I was hoping for. My background is in law ( 2:1 from Bristol - graduate in 2022 - Alevels are A*AA), and before consulting, I worked in government procurement.

I’m looking to transition into something more intellectually rigorous and finance-driven, ideally in equity research or asset management. I’m particularly drawn to market research, and investment decision-making, and I want to be in an environment that is more impactful and better compensated while still allowing for a reasonable work-life balance.

Would love to hear from anyone who has made a similar move or has insight into hiring for these roles. Any networking tips or suggestions would be hugely appreciated. Thank you in advance.
