Datastream, financial data API to Excel

Hey guys!

I'm currently working at an asset management firm for which I create screeners and valuation models. Everything is done with Bloomberg term API connection to Excel which has been working perfectly for me.

Wondering if anyone knows a cheaper API to excel alternative for financial data on global equities for personal use. Have read about Factsheet and Reuters but still too expensive for me, and I'm only really interested in extracting data from a database.

Would love to hear whether you know a good data source with significantly lower pricing than BB

Thanks in advance!

Esp
