Tough situation. idk might just be me but id email him Monday or Tuesday, explaining your interest in the firm and then telling him you have an impending deadline. That way it shows you care and has urgency as well. And then talk about how you want to join it for xyz reasons
I don't consider this an offer IMO. I think you might have overstepped a bit by asking for materials without having that follow-up call, given you didn't discuss any further details or get anything in writing
I'd reach out one last time (use the thread of your initial outreach email's thank you note and delete your follow up) - tell him you really enjoyed talking with him and would love to talk further about an internship if it still might work for him. You do have another offer and have until August 10th to decide, so a decision either way would be greatly appreciated.
And if he doesn't respond by August 10th just take that one
Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. Do you think this would be a nice way to word the next email?
“Hi mr.xyz, I really enjoyed talking to you and learning about abc firm and I think being able to work with you would be an incredible opportunity for me to learn more about finance in a hands-on environment. I would love to talk further about an internship if it still might work for you. I currently have another internship offer on campus that I have until august 10th to decide, so a decision either way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks once again”
Sorry if this a a dumb question, I just heard wording things the wrong way could offend an md/partner, especially in situations like these where he’d be going out of his way to help. So I don’t want to make it sound like an ultimatum and overstep again.
Some minor edits. Any variation of this is fine, I agree it shouldn't sound like an ultimatum

"Hi mr.xyz, Hope you are well. I really enjoyed talking to you a few weeks ago, and if it still might work for you I would love to speak further about a potential internship this fall. As I mentioned I'm happy to work for nothing, just eager for experience and the opportunity to learn about finance in an hands-on environment. I do have another internship offer on campus that I need to decide on before August 10th. I understand if an internship is not possible right now - please let me know either way, and again thank you for your time and advice on the phone. Best,"
