Energy Sector Advice

Hey guys I need some advice. So I just graduated from a non-target, and one of my offers is from a small energy company that deals with natural gas and electricity. It's basically a junior gas analyst role, and the team is very small so I would get a lot of exposure to more advanced things and have room to grow quickly.

My goal is working in equity research and wanted to know if this would be solid experience for a couple of years to help transition to ER in the energy sector in the future. I'm also thinking of b-school, so something like 4 years in energy experience -> MBA -> ER

Is this a solid opportunity or a waste of time?
