Equity Research Basic Terminology

Hi

I am relatively new to the industry and would wish to get some ideas from all you guys with better knowledge.

I am reading one of the my analyst reports, and I want to clear some terminologies appeared in this report, my understanding is not crystal clear.

How to understand these numbers: 3y marketability ( in mil) Local beta P/E(norm) BHS Avg

and I see through out the report, quite a few measures are on tangible assets and tangible equity, for example return on average tangible equity rather than normal ROE and Price tangible NAV rather than P/NAV. Is this a common practice in the industry? How much more do we know by looking at tangible numbers rather than the normal whole numbers? ( Sorry CFA does not cover this)
