Equity Research in Chicago?
Do any BB firms have much ER in Chicago or other cities in the US, or is the overwhelming bulk of it in NY?

I don't know of any BB that has equity research in Chicago. There are a few notable IM shops, such as ariel, nuveen, advisory research, zacks. There's also william blair, which is a sell-side firm.
Also Northern Trust would be a good place to look.
I think CS and BofA have a regional office in Chicago.
RW Baird does too.
I would guess Blair is the biggest though.
