Equity Research Spring Internships?

I go to a non-target school in NYC and this spring will have considerable free time (3 days of no classes). I am very torn between Ibanking and ER and am hoping to intern doing ER work this spring to help me decide.

The only problem is it seems like there is little need for ER interns, especially part time. Are part time internships common and/or worth my time to pursue for the spring? Will I be doing anything practical?

I realize a lot of this depends on the firm and description but I am just wondering if there is an overall atittude towards interns in ER, especially from a part time perspective.
