ER 2010 Market Salary
Hi everyone!
Searching for some answers advice ASAP as need to make decision on recent exploding offer.
Can someone tell me what is typical market for 2nd yr ER analyst? 3rd yr ER analyst? And, if you are brining previous experience (outside of particular firm) to bear, is is appropriate to expect higher comp?
Any responses would be appreciated...thanks!
What type of bank (BB/MM/Boutique) are talking about here? Also, where was your previous experience at, assuming it was ER? Last, what's your definition of analyst? Are you talking about someone with 1-2 years of experience after undergrad or are you talking about a senior analyst position with coverage? I'm assuming you're talking about the former but wanted to clarify first.
BB bank. 2 yrs + prior experience in PE. First experience in ER, but not exactly fresh out of undergrad.
Thanks!!
Sorry and yes - 'analyst' as jr person
Junior people in ER are associates. It's backwards from IB.
Right- but doesn't it depend on which firm as to title?
Okay so then a 2nd yr pre-MBA associate position, bringing to bear 2+ years of experience in another financial sector? Low end/high end?
Okay cool, thanks for the clarification. My guess is that they'd bring you on as either a first or second year. Don't think you'll get credit for a full two years but I could be wrong. Anything in the $70-90K range is competitive, depending on what year they bring you in as. So if they were to bring you on as a second year, then $80K would be competitive. If it was a third year, then $90K.
Hope that helps man.
As for titles, every firm is different. In general, anyone who isn't a senior analyst or someone with coverage in ER is usually referred to as an associate. At BB's, you may have a tiered system where it's analyst (pre-MBA)--->associate (post-MBA)---->junior analyst (covering small/mid-caps)---->senior analyst.
