ER at Guggenheim, Jefferies or Alliance Bernstein
Anyone have experience in ER department at either of these firms? If so, can you please describe the pros vs. cons of your experience there? Thanks.

Career Resources
you should really evaluate er in the context of the group your joining. The quality of the research, experience on the job, upward mobility and exit ops are mostly a function of your boss.
AB and jefferies are usually pretty close in II in terms of ranked analysts. I don’t know much about Guggenheim.
Okay, thanks for the guidance.
Do you know anything about Oppenheimer (healthcare group) and Aberdeen asset management in terms of ER?
Conflating JEF with Berstein is misguided. in 2018 4 firms had a single II #1 ranked analyst: EVR, JPM, UBS, and Bernstein - and Bernstein had 8. Leagues better than Jefferies, clear tier 1 shop. Bernstein mostly only covers mega-cap companies and have very lean teams. Their Senior analysts are all mostly hired from industry too - their banks analyst during the crisis was the former CFO of Lehman. Their E&P analyst worked for a decade at Hess, etc

So at a place like Bernstein, do they place a premium on actual experience within an industry, as opposed to a straight finance background?
