ER for non-finance
Hey Guys,
how realistic is it for a non-finance major to land an ER position out of college ? I'm a science student from a semi-target school and currently a junior. This summer i will be working as a intern at a VC, so w/o an ER summer research position, is it realistically possible? Just like anyone else, I would like to start at a big firms, but what options would I have.
Thanks in advance.
ER is hard to break into. you should try ibanking. there are more spots. its still going to be competitive though, maybe find an alum to help you
I heard it was the opposite. I heard IBD is harder to get into than research. Nonetheless, I really like the nature of research and finance work, and thus ER.
false... IBD is easy to pick up as long as you have solid credentials and contact an alum.
ER recruits mostly MBA and even then there are very few spots each year.
i'm not too worried about picking up the material. Even as a non-science major, I know my finance from self-studying...especially about the market. Not an expert, but know quite a bit.
