ER FT 2013 Current Environment

Hi all,

I am currently a senior at a non-target trying to break into a full-time equity research associate role upon graduation in 2013. I've talked to associates/analysts/vps at a number of BB/MM sell-side research firms and had my resume forwarded to a couple places. I understand the hiring environment for ER is terrible right now and many of the people I spoke with told me entry-level hiring would be on a need basis.

I was just wondering whether anyone here has gone through interviews at BB/MM equity research firms for FT positions this fall and which firms are actually currently hiring. Also does anyone know of any firms with a consistent campus hiring program for ER this year? If anyone has more info regarding firms like Morgan Stanley, Piper Jaffray, Credit Suisse, Barclays, KeyBanc, etc. that would be great.

Thanks in advance for sharing your insights.

Thanks for the advice bearing, West Coast I'll definitely continue to talk to those people and hopefully a spot will open up down the road. Gotta really ramp up the networking efforts again.
