ER Intern to Full Time

I'm being purposely broad here, but if any specifics are needed please let me know.

Starting this upcoming February going til' essentially July, I'll be interning in ER at a respected (full-service), non-BB IB in a major financial center in the Middle East. I graduate this coming December with a Finance/Investments undergrad with a relatively strong GPA (3.8 Cumulative/ 4.0 Major), and so the opportunity to intern at a strong bank in the Spring works well for my schedule. I'll be taking the Level One CFA in June (and I have no doubt I will pass). I worked previously (during undergrad) within Real Estate, and a bit with tech (obviously of limited relevance), so this would be my first real experience within financial services.

I am personally based out of New York, went to college there, life is there, etcetera etcetera. The bank I mentioned has a very strong presence in New York. Essentially, I'd like to make myself as strong a candidate as possible for a Full Time starting at a time close to July. I would hope that I'll be offered a FT with the company I intern with, but little is certain in this world and so I'd like to give myself some breathing room. Outside of excelling in the internship (I plan to do so), what can I do, this being November, to ensure I have a strong candidacy come July? Let me know if this post is missing any critical information.

Stray Questions:

1) Options to apply to IBD from just an internship in ER?
2) How well does an ER internship travel?
