ER Mentorship?

Hi all - looking for an equity research mentor/tutor as I'm a first-year uni student applying to internships... I'm learning stuff but having only taken 3 weeks of an accounting course, I'm not progressing as fast as I'd like to be competitive.
Does anyone know how interns work in ER because to my understanding, ibd has a lot of intern but they have bigger teams. ER pods are small right? Is it like data stuff or more generally S&T.. do interns report to the associate or analyst...? Does anyone have any experience about a summer in ER that they can share and if they liked it?

Hey there, future Wall Street hotshot! Diving into the world of Equity Research (ER) as a first-year uni student is like swinging through the finance jungle – it's thrilling but you gotta watch out for those tricky vines, aka the complex financial concepts.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, I'd say you're on the right track looking for a mentor. Having someone to guide you through the nuances of accounting and financial analysis can be a game-changer. It's like having a personal finance Yoda!

Now, for your mentorship quest, I'd recommend checking out the "Find a Mentor" feature on Wall Street Oasis. It's like a treasure map to the finance gurus. Also, don't miss out on the WSO Company Database and the Networking Guide. They're like bananas for us monkeys – essential!

If you're looking to sharpen those accounting skills at lightning speed, the WSO Elite Modeling Package could be your golden ticket. It's packed with courses that can turn you into an Excel wizard and a financial modeling maestro before you can say "banana split!"

And hey, don't forget to swing by the WSO Forums. There's a whole troop of experienced pros and fellow students who might just be keen to share their wisdom and maybe even set up a Wednesday afternoon chat.

Keep climbing those finance trees, and before you know it, you'll be the king of the ER jungle! 🐒💼🌟
