I wouldn't list the name, I would just mention that you worked on an II-ranked team.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

Have you asked him if he is happy to give personal, informal references for you to the handful of people who you might interview with in the next few years? If you mention his name he might get a couple of phone calls if people decide to check you out, but not loads. Will he actually say good things about you? Is his name well known enough in the sector for it to count? Is he consistently ranked or was that year a one of? Do his peers rate him or is he disliked by some (or many)? Plenty of people put lead analyst/ mentor's names on their CVs but you should think of the above points first. If it's a statement of fact you needn't be afraid of mentioning it, just work out how it will be received by the people you are applying to.
