EVR ER?
Recently saw a listing for equity research at EVR. Does anyone have insight to what an ER role in a boutique is like, and how it may differ from a role at a bb?
Thank you

Top notch research. It used to be an independent firm called ISI until evercore brought the platform, hence EvercoreISI.
Pay is at the top of the street and they typically have well ranked analyst. Beats most BB’s imo
The work is no different. ISI, Cowen, and Wolfe are the top ER boutiques. JPM has the best research platform for the BBs.
Cowen in okay. Good in biotech and not much else
Cowen is not an ER boutique lol
Known in the research community as go getters and are very good at what they do. Idk exactly but would surmise they place very well on the buy side too
Top notch teams and almost a guarantee you'll be working for someone who is II ranked. Associates usually are worked pretty hard though as it's a lean shop, I've heard some associates covering 50 stocks. Pay is top of street but could be challenging to stay there long-term as upward mobility is capped when you're working for a top tier analyst that just won't move. Very good buy-side exits too, and culture is pretty friendly.
Typically in ER to get coverage you move down in caliber of shops so that’s nothing new.
If a SS analyst/ associate covers 50 stocks, he/she either has photographic memory or the research is crap.
Ut soluta aut illum dolorum iure id. Eum atque veritatis ipsum. Rerum cum dignissimos earum et.
