Expected Comp

Hey monkeys, I was wondering what one can expect to earn out of college as a ER first year associate at a top 5 ranked BB. I saw the few threads about compensation but I found them to be highly variable and also a lot of focus on MM ER firms. I'd love to hear specifically about the higher rated BB firms.

Previously I assumed that $100,000-110,000 is a realistic range. Am I about right?

$75k-$85k base and $10k-$25k bonus depending on bank and location is typical. So you can expect $85k-$110k all-in, excluding signing bonus. Most people settle in that $90k-$100k range. Some go as high as $125k.

I would expect $100k-$110k if you are out of NYC.

Why associate? I assume new graduates are supposed to start with analyst positions.
