From risk to ER?

So, from risk, do you think it is possible to transfer into ER ?
I am thinking about something like working arround 2 years in risk while getting CFA then try to go into the above mentioned.
Do you feel it's possible ?

Thanks in advance!

If you mean the narrow definition of ER (cover individual companies of particular sectors, equity fundamental analysis), risk role won't help you at all.

There are other types of ER like portfolio strategies, quant equities, macro strategies which have overlapping skill sets with risk role (hopefully you mean market risk). If those are what you are interested at, you have a better shot.

Not sure about credit risk -> credit research

Hi, thanks for your response. I would like to work at companies research yeah, so i guess i am going quite in the worng way... Do you think getting some experience into trading would help that way ? Also, CFA/CIIA not making a difference?
