FT ER Recruiting

Hi everyone, when does FT recruiting start? I am currently a junior, but am graduating next semester. When is a good time to start applying or think about applying? Do December 2021 graduates fall within the Spring 2022 graduate cycle?

Also, do referrals really matter when applying from a non-target?
