Based on previous WSO threads, if you're looking for top analysts and their rankings, a good resource to check out is tipranks.com. This site provides comprehensive analyst rankings and performance metrics, which can be very useful for identifying top analysts in various sectors.
Additionally, it's important to note that while some analysts may not be top-ranked, they can still provide significant value through corporate access and strong relationships with company management, as highlighted in the WSO discussions.

Also, is there usually a big difference between the #1 ranked team and #3/runner up in terms of experience and buyside recruiting?
Totally depends on the sector, and RU and #3 are pretty different too. Some sectors #1 and #3 are a hairs' breadth apart in market share of votes, some sectors #1 has a monster share like 15% and the last place runner up is 3-4%.
Got it. Any sure fire way to tell which is the case? I’ve looked into the rankings a bit since the post and we can see the firm rankings by sector. Some sectors have less runner ups and runner ups have to be within 35% of the third-place scores. So at least we can tell concentration around runner ups and #3.
Right. Typically a lot of runner ups means that #3 is relatively weak, few runner ups means #3 is quite strong.
