Goldman biotech?
Any biotech guys have on opinion on this team? I know it’s analyst dependent but trying to get an idea of if they are respected by the Buyside. Have a lateral opportunity from a smaller bank and don’t wanna say the analyst.
Not really but then again GS is not known for research. But that being said, if you’re coming from a much smaller firm and the analyst is not II ranked, then it probably makes sense to lateral.
I mean it’s a respectable MM. Any idea on that biotech analyst are good at GS?
Most MMs think they are respectable. It’s still GS vs MM even though GS not that known for research. Plus exit opportunities.
I mean in biotech research I’d rather be at Leerink or cantor than GS. (Not saying I’m at one of those shops)
Think MM’s body most BB’s for biotech.
For Cantor that’s only true if you work for Shimmer/Schmidt. Although it wouldn’t make sense to lateral to Cantor it you can work for a real respectable MM (eg Leerink, Jefferies, Cowen), EB (Evercore) or BB (JPM, MS, BoA)
