Graduate roles: which equity research groups to apply for?
Any ideas on which are the best equity research groups in London to work for? I hear that the quality of the analyst/team you work for supercedes in importance the prestige of the bank e.g. could feasibly be a better opportunity to work for a team at BNP Paribas than a team at Goldman Sachs, if the analyst is more respected in the industry.
Short of having a conversation with an employee in every bank in London (or scraping internet forums) how do you ascertain which groups are strong inside a bank? More generally, how would you find out which are the most respected ER teams in the city?
Look at Institutional Investor rankings for each sector. Those are what really matter... it's how the buy side rates each team. Yes the quality of analyst and team matter more than the firm. Exane (BNP Paribas) probably has better analysts for every sector than Goldman in Europe (I'm not at either)
Thanks!
Is there anyway to view these without paying $1000?
Also, does the same apply for fixed income research?
ask an associate in ER, they should have the rankings
dont know about fixed income im afraid
I heard CS is an ER powerhouse in Europe
You're joking right? Do they have ANY top ranked analysts?
