How Did You Know ER Was Right For You?

How Did You Know ER Was Right For You?

Seems like a really appealing career path. Not concerned about the consolidation, since top groups can still get paid quite generous compensations. I really like the idea of deep analysis, but maybe I would be better suited for PE, or working in AM

So, to those of you who really enjoyed your time in ER, how did you know it was the right career path for you?

1st year, paid generously (140-160k total comp off ~90k base), in a hot sector and analyst. Analyst is great and truly does deep fundamental analyst in our non-large cap coverage.

It really boils down to, are you a curious person. Maybe even nosey. As many have said before, your experience is largely dictated by your analyst, and somewhat your bank.

Starting on the SS really sets you up for the AM route. PE is a totally different ball game and there are some recent threads (Consultants considering PE, another thread i think) that highlight the lifestyle and misnomers.
