How to Break into Equity Research

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to break into ER for this coming year. I recently graduated from UC Berkeley in May 2022 with a 3.5 GPA in Economics.

I am currently working in Big 4 Consulting doing Finance Transformation. Because this role works with the CFO office doing implementation of tech (think SAP or Oracle), I do not have a lot of exposure to valuation, financial modeling, or numbers in general.

I was wondering what would be the next best steps for me to best position myself to break into ER? I am willing to learn financial modeling, valuations, etc. on my own.

Thanks for the help.
