How to do an accurate earning forecasting?

Hi all, I am newbie here, and I am working as an research analyst in a buy-side firm.

Recently, my boss told me to do earning forecast and need accurate result. While this is no taught in the book, i am wondering how to make it accurate, and the boss said if i make three error in forecast, i will be fired. that makes me worry, so i need you guys help.

Bro, i know this is ridiculous, me and my colleague think in the same way, i wonder if this is because of the Chinese culture of this firm or it is normal to do such forecast in buy side, as i just join buy side.
