Industry Research ==> ER
Graduated from a solid university (Top 20 B-school) now doing industry research for finance, energy, and tech industries/companies. The research is centered around pretty basic financial analysis and forecasting (10-Ks, quarterly earnings, etc) with a solid amount of economic forecasting -- also enrolled in CFA program. In my spare time, I've written research reports on SeekingAlpha for a number of companies in various industries.
Is it a pipe dream to eventually move into ER? If not -- do you have any tips to help transition easier and what the time frame you believe is suitable?
Definitely not. Keep up with the CFA and network your tail off.
Thanks @larry david appreciate it. Enrolled for June and figured once/if I pass level 1 I'll try to make the move and hope firms are receptive.
