Jefferies ER

I’m trying to leave this BB and not too crazy about ECM as a career, so I’m looking at ER opportunities.

I’ve looked at associates at Jefferies on LinkedIn and many of them have been at the bank longer or have lateraled from a non-ER background like tech support, consulting, IB, wealth management, etc.

I would expect comp at Jefferies ER to be above street. What makes it a sweatshop? Do they cover a ton of names? Less associates? What makes Jefferies ER superior/subpar? It seems clients, at least from people I know at Citadel, regard Jefferies well, but I’ve also heard that the quality of research output varies.

bumping this as I see many positions open. What's the culture and pay like? It seems like the shop runs through associates but haven't gotten anyone to confirm
