Mentorship in ER?

I’m about to start my junior summer internship in Equity Research this summer. I am wondering if groups typically have mentorship programs or mentors assigned to interns or new associates? Have heard certain ib folk do so

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's common for firms to have mentorship programs or assign mentors to interns or new associates in Equity Research. This is done to help you navigate the professional landscape, understand the work culture, and learn the ropes of the job. However, the structure and formality of these programs can vary from firm to firm.

In some cases, you might be assigned a mentor right from the start, while in others, you might need to seek out a mentor yourself. It's always a good idea to build relationships with senior staff, as they can provide valuable guidance and insights.

Remember, being proactive and showing eagerness to learn can go a long way in securing a mentor and making the most of your internship. Good luck with your summer internship!
