personal notes & onenote
For those of you who spend a lot of time taking notes at work, where/how do you save them?
I use OneNote business version on work pc excessively, but since that's locked to company's network (my firm blocks all online cloud drives except its own OneDrive), I won't be able to bring my notes with me when I eventually leave the firm. This is a bit silly since it wouldn't be an issue for hand written notes.
I have 2 solutions for now, but neither is ideal:
1) Manually transferring (i.e. typing) my notes from work pc to personal pc every week/month, but it's a waste of time (tell myself it's an opportuntiy to review my raw notes)
2) Use personal pc/tablet for notes taking going forward, so my notes stay with me -- but I've never seen anyone using personal devices at work, so this might be prohibitted
What are your thoughts?
I would bet "technically" any work done for your firm while you work for your firm is their property, including your notes. However, at my job we use a virtual desktop running from my personal computer (when WFH), so you could take notes on your personal computer and then send them to your work device to save. Not sure if that works for you.
