Questions about Canada and ER firms.

Hey, please don't shit on me for posting a Canada thread.

So I'm graduating this semester from a US college (complete non-target) and trying to cast an extremely wide net as far as employment goes. I'm finishing up my citizenship app (mom is Canadian) so that shouldn't be a problem. I have a few questions.

  1. Assuming I'm not applying for a US bank, how do the more regional/boutique firms treat US applicants? Are they given equal footing to Canadian applicants?

  2. Once again, assuming I'm not applying for a US bank, will I be trapped in Canada? I know this is dependent on a million factors but just in general.

  3. Should I even bother? How competitive are entry level positions? I'm going to look into whatever I can find but I just want to figure out the best way to focus my energy.
