Reaching out internally

Hello, So unfortunately my summer internship fell through. So rn I work at a shit dept at Citi and I have one semester left to finish my masters in finance. My question is if I reach out to people in ER internally via IM asking to meet for coffee to learn more about what they do/what they look for when it comes to hiring etc. Would they get annoyed or thats pretty normal since we work on the same campus!

Would agree with HotelMotel. Here's a template that I've found the most successful (best response rate)...

Subject: Current (University) Student First Name, I am currently a senior at (university), and I was wondering if you would be open to a brief phone call. I would really appreciate speaking about your current role and experiences in banking. I have attached my resume for your consideration. Best, My Name

Obviously adjust as you see fit but the shorter the better. No one really has the time or willingness to read through a 5 paragraph email from someone they don't know or care about.
